Established since 1974
Established in 1975 as a partnership that provided specialised technical services to law firms only. The business grew organically. In 1976, non-technical commercial services were sold off and thereafter, in addition to its core client law firms, the firm accepted instructions from accountancy firms, HNWI’s, SME, and other commercial enterprises.
By 2000, the partnership was acting as lead advisors and managers of corporate recovery projects, multi-jurisdictional corporate planning, foundations, and trusts (including several European and Caribbean trust companies).
Over the years the firm has also handled non-resident structuring for privacy, asset protection and tax mitigation, including the establishment and management of family offices. Thereafter, the partners added demand-led services, including sourcing acquisitions and JV partners, the preparation of businesses for flotation and/or sale, MBO projects, majority shareholder retirement planning, supervising international property investments and latterly the establishment of tax-efficient and confidential crypto trading businesses.

Thompson, Lane & Co was established in 1975 as a partnership and transferred to Thompson, Lane & Co (UK) Limited in late 2025.
The Firm is led by the managing partner, David Wilson, an accountant who has worked in the business since 1996 and, with his team, has begun an expansion programme built on our core values of Excellence, Integrity, and Value.
